Power and Versatility of Intelagard Systems1/27/2009 by John Breedlove and Dennis Smagac Behind the scenes at the 2004 Olympics, Republication National Convention, G-8 Summit, and Democratic National Convention, teams were trained and prepared to respond to a wide variety of incidents, whether accidental or man-made. From decontamination to fire, the ability to act quickly and efficiently was in place. Intelagard equipment played an integral part in the response plans at these events. Intelagard compressed air foam (CAF) systems provide the ability to respond to a wide range of emergency incidents. The systems have deployed EasyDECON™ DF200, Reformulated Decon Green (RDG), hot and cold water/soapy water, and chlorine-based decontamination solutions including HTH and STB for CBW remediation. The same systems will also deploy nuclear/radiological decontamination formulas, HAZMAT remediation solutions, bio-remediation foams to inert and mitigate hydrocarbon spills, and all classes of fire suppression foams. Intelagard equipment provides optimal adaptability to effectively respond to multiple hazard events. A fire might be set to cover up an anthrax release. Or an apparent fuel spill could turn out to be an intentional toxic chemical discharge. With Intelagard equipment, you can decontaminate a lab, control toxic chemical vapors, and suppress fire using the same unit by changing the formulation as appropriate. Intelagard deployed decontamination foams have the unique ability to adhere to vertical and inverted surfaces, allowing the durable foam blanket to maintain required wet contact time between the detected agent and the formulation. Intelagard systems are capable of applying compressed air foam, air aspirated foam and liquid formulas with simple control adjustments, in order to quickly and effectively switch operational modes to match specific needs. Used extensively by the Intelagard’s large-scale Falcon FSDS answered an urgent need for US Central Command for fixed site decontamination systems. The systems were deployed in critical mission areas world wide, having been extensively tested at Yuma Proving Ground, Fort Leonard Wood, Intelagard’s Merlin systems were chosen by FEMA, a division of DHS, to provide immediate decontamination capabilities for federally-funded USAR teams. The systems are also deployed for advanced testing and technology demonstrations at Sandia National Labs, Dugway Proving Ground, For powerful systems that offer optimal versatility and reliability, you can rely on Intelagard equipment.
